2024: A Year for Celebrating 25 Years of Thriving Together

This year, the Wisdom Works team celebrates 25 years of pursuing our mission to create a world where everyone thrives. Since our founding in 1999, we’ve been driven by the belief that leadership, relationships, and purpose have the power to transform not just workplaces, but entire lives. Yet, we also recognize that true transformation is never the work of one individual or entity alone. Our 25-year milestone reflects what we’ve achieved together with our clients, partners, and global community—all united in the shared commitment to thriving and flourishing.

Here’s a timeline of highlights from our 25 years in business:

1999

Life partners Renee and David Moorefield co-founded Wisdom Works. With no prior entrepreneurial experience, they were inspired by a deep passion to build healthier leaders and teams that could drive meaningful change in organizations—and in the world.

We launched transformational leadership programs, developing the mindset and capabilities of executive teams to lead with collective purpose, vision, and action. Leaders and teams honed skills such as mindfulness, focus, energy management, constructive commitment, feedback for growth, and tapping into whole-person wisdom.

2000

In partnership with LeeAnn Mallory, we built coaching capacity to support the Power of Self programs, pioneered by Marsha Clark & Associates. This program, and many of the original coaches, continue to empower hundreds of women leaders today.

2012-2014

We developed and implemented the Transformational Coach Program to equip leaders at all levels of Trinity Health and Centura Health with essential coaching skills. This program served as a catalyst for meaningful shifts within these healthcare systems, setting them on a path toward fostering cultures of continuous learning, enhancing employee wellbeing, improving leadership effectiveness, and driving sustainable growth.

We assisted a leading fast-moving consumer goods company in the Middle East and North Africa to make thriving a core differentiator, crafting commitments to enhance the quality of life for employees, partners, and consumers.

2024

We entered a partnership with the College of Charleston’s School of Business to launch a leadership transformation component for their new Executive MBA program. Participants will apply the science of thriving, stress resilience, and growth to enhance their leadership effectiveness. Additionally, we developed a 3-year transformational development journey for the new nonprofit California Institute of Stress and Resilience, along with assets to assist in securing funding for their venture.

Like all companies, we’ve faced both triumphs and challenges. However, in 2024, to celebrate the abundance of the past 25 years, we donated over $25,000 in services and products through the Women4Women Summit, the Global Wellness Institute, and scholarships for our programs. We are deeply grateful for the opportunity to support these people and causes.

We believe that seven essential shifts define what it means to be a thriving leader. Guided by our mission, Kate McIver is stepping into the role of Chief Operating Officer to help steward our next chapter. Kate, who has been instrumental in our vision for the past four years as Steward of Programs and Communications, brings her energy and intelligence to fuel the future of our company.

Above all, what we cherish most are the relationships we’ve built along the way—relationships that go far beyond business. As our CEO Renee Moorefield often says, “There’s nothing better than doing work you love with people you love.”   We celebrate all people and organizations who share our vision for creating a thriving world. Here’s to the next chapter of growing together!
